SNAKE BITES AND
 ENVENOMATION

(Pre-Surgery)

Warning! Due to the graphic nature of these "snake bite" pics, viewer discretion is advised!

A Florida Watermoccasin bite is rarely fatal but is considered serious, however, cases involving fatalities have been scarcely documented.  The bite of this snake has a particularly destructive venom that can cause loss of tissue surrounding the area of the bite and in some cases loss of extremities.  The latter is usually a result of incorrect first aid treatment.

Lee Moore received this snake bite from a Florida Watermoccasin in December, 2000.
